Disney Cruise Line is The Walt Disney Company's cruise brand, created in 1996 and sailing since 1998 with Disney Magic. The fleet has grown quickly: the Wish class added Disney Wish (2022), Disney Treasure (2024) and Disney Destiny (2025), and Disney Adventure began sailing from Singapore in 2026. Disney sails mostly from Florida to the Bahamas and Caribbean, with Alaska from Vancouver and other seasonal programs.
Onboard, Disney is all about storytelling. Theaters stage original Broadway-style Disney musicals, characters appear around the ship, and the kids' clubs are among the best at sea. Rotational dining moves your family and servers through themed restaurants on different nights, so the same waiters follow you. Adults have dedicated pools, lounges and adults-only restaurants such as Palo, plus Enchanté or Remy depending on the ship.
Disney suits families with young children, Disney fans of any age and multigenerational groups who want everyone entertained. It also works for adults who love the brand and want polished service. It is usually priced well above mainstream lines, has no casino and no drink package, so budget-focused travelers and those looking for a party cruise should look elsewhere.
The vibe: Polished, family-first and full of Disney magic; character moments by day, Broadway-quality shows by night.

What Disney does best
Castaway Cay
Disney's private island in the Bahamas, where ships dock right at the island, with family beaches and an adults-only beach.
Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point
A second Bahamas destination on the southern end of Eleuthera that opened in June 2024.
Rotational dining
You rotate through themed main restaurants on different nights while your server team moves with you.
Original Disney stage shows
Each ship runs its own lineup of Broadway-style productions in its main theater.
Kids' clubs
Disney's Oceaneer Club and Oceaneer Lab are included and open long hours, with separate spaces for tweens and teens.
Wish-class ships
Disney Wish, Disney Treasure and Disney Destiny add the AquaMouse water attraction and new themed restaurants and lounges.
Dining
Rotational dining is included: each night you move between themed restaurants (examples include Arendelle on Disney Wish and Plaza de Coco on Disney Treasure), with the same servers following your table. Buffet and quick-service food is also included. Adults-only Palo (Italian) is on every ship for an extra charge, and some ships add a higher-end French option, Remy or Enchanté. Soft drinks and coffee are included throughout the cruise.
Entertainment and activities
Original Disney musicals in the Walt Disney Theatre, first-run Disney films in onboard cinemas, character meet-and-greets, deck parties such as Pirate Night, and family game shows. Adults have their own lounges and clubs in the evenings. There is no casino on any Disney ship.
Families and kids
This is the line's core strength. The included Oceaneer Club and Oceaneer Lab welcome kids ages 3 to 12, with Edge for tweens and Vibe for teens. A nursery for babies and toddlers is available for a fee. Family pools, water slides and the AquaDuck or AquaMouse water attractions keep kids busy, while adults have a separate adults-only pool area.
Dress code
Casual by day and resort casual at dinner. Longer cruises include optional formal and semi-formal nights, and many sailings have a Pirate Night where guests dress up in pirate gear. Palo and Remy have a dressier dress code.
Gratuities and drinks
Disney publishes suggested gratuities for dining and stateroom staff of $16 per person per day in most staterooms and $27.25 per person per day in concierge staterooms and suites. You can prepay them before sailing or settle them onboard. (Published rates as of 2026-10-13; source. Lines change these, so we confirm the current amount in every quote.)
Soft drinks, coffee, tea, water, milk and juice with meals are included, and nonalcoholic beverage stations are open around the clock. Disney does not sell an unlimited drink package; instead it offers wine and beer packages and happy hours. Adult guests may carry on a limited amount of wine, Champagne or beer at embarkation; check Disney's current limit before you pack.
Loyalty program: Castaway Club. Tell us your number when you request a quote so past-guest offers and status perks are applied.

Specialist tips for booking Disney
- Online check-in and booking windows for Palo, excursions, nursery time and spa open earlier for higher Castaway Club tiers. First-timers get the last window, so be online the morning it opens.
- Pick your port arrival time during online check-in. Early slots go fast and give you more time on the first afternoon.
- Use the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app onboard (it works on the ship's network without a paid Wi-Fi plan) for schedules, chat and character times.
- Pirate Night happens on most sailings; pack a bandana or pirate tee for the kids so you are not stuck buying one onboard.
- If you want a Bahamas sailing with Castaway Cay or Lookout Cay, check the itinerary carefully, since not every Bahamas cruise includes a private-island day.
