Carnival Venezia was built as Costa Venezia and entered service in 2019, originally for the Chinese market. In 2023 she was refitted at Navantia in Cádiz and transferred to Carnival, starting service under her new name with a transatlantic crossing to New York at the end of May 2023.
The ship keeps her Venetian decor, including the Piazza San Marco atrium and Teatro Rosso, but runs Carnival's menus, entertainment and youth programs under the "Carnival Fun Italian Style" banner. She has been based at the Manhattan Cruise Terminal for Caribbean and Bahamas sailings and began seasonal week-long Caribbean cruises from Port Canaveral in December 2024.
